Dave Daring App Review – Dare You Not To Like This App

By Emily On June 13, 2013 · Add Comment
Those who know me, know not to dare me to do something – because I’ll do pretty much anything.  I have fond memories of proving my husband wrong when he told me I wouldn’t be able to eat five pieces of the hottest-sauced chicken  - aptly named Braveheart  - at the local wing joint.  My daughter, even as early a three years old, is showing clear signs of inheriting the daredevil gene. Dave Daring also inherited that gene too but instead of using it to scarf down atomic chicken wings, he’s using it to help teach your little one over 250 words.  The app features several scenes straight from Dave’s daring adventures, and players try to find a group of items in the chaos.  Find the cat in each scene and a group of mazes are unlocked for more fun. From climbing a mountain (of clothes) [...]

How To Change Your iPad’s Restrictions Passcode

By Jess On June 12, 2013 · Add Comment
Like the responsible parent you are, you enabled the restrictions on your iPad by setting up an infallible passcode, “infallible” in this case meaning that it only took your child 3 months to figure out your special 4-digit code. You can’t discourage persistence or control random luck, but you can change your restrictions passcode. How To Change The Code Open Settings Tap General on left side Tap Restrictions on right side Enter your 4-digit passcode Tap Disable Restrictions on top right Enter your 4-digit passcode Tap Enable Restrictions on top right and set a new restrictions passcode by entering a new 4-digit sequence Re-enter the new code when prompted   And there you have it, a new, and hopefully IMPROVED, restrictions passcode.

NY Museum of Modern Art Inspires Open-Ended Play App

By Faith O'Neil On June 12, 2013 · Add Comment
Back in 1986, the NY Museum of Modern Art decided to create an open-ended play-set for children. The play-set consisted of creatively painted wooden pieces that could be mixed, matched, and placed on a wooden board in different patterns and shapes. The set has long been a staple of childhood creative play, but now, things are changing. In our digital world, there is now an app for this adorable play-set! While it may not be the same as a physical toy, at least there are no pieces to pick up from the floor! ZoLO is a brand new app, released on May 3rd, that is based on its wooden counterpart. While one might think that an app cannot replace the benefits gained from a physical toy, the makers of ZoLO claim that the virtual playstructure is just as open-ended and creative as the real deal.  The app store listing [...]

Brain Training Games – A Mindful App

By Emily On June 11, 2013 · Add Comment
There’s something about having kids around that just sucks the brain power right out of a sharp-minded, well-spoken adult.  I usually have a mind like a steel trap – remembering details about my childhood or events that happened long ago.  But driving to preschool with the kids in the back seat means that I even forgot what a green light means. It’s safe to say that I (along with other brain-drained parents) could use some serious memory building.  Brain Training Games is an app to do just that, but it’s not just limited to grown brains.  Young growing brains  also need regular exercise and the features on this app make sure players of all ages get a proper workout of the cerebellum. Six different games and three levels of difficulty offer fun to all ages and levels.  Players can even choose themes for the games from [...]
