The holidays are upon us and that means families are gathering from all corners of the world to celebrate. Sometimes, for one reason or another, we can’t all be together at the same time. That’s why our friends at LaunchPad have quietly released their newest app Toontastic Jr. Kung Fu Panda. It features the movie-making magic as the other award-winning Toontastic apps, starring Po and his high-kicking friends from the popular animated franchise. “How Toons” Contest from Toontastic & Minecraft

We love Toontastic so this news is pretty exciting! The masterminds of storytelling at Launchpad Toys have teamed up with MinecraftEdu to show how kids can learn from playing the astoundingly popular sandbox indie game. Using a copy of Launchpad’s award-winning Toontastic or Toontastic: All Access, kids are encouraged to create and upload a how-to (“How Toons”) video. Check out this Toytivity for more info. ToonTubes is where young storytellers can watch these submissions, as well as over 7 million other Toontastic creations from over 200 different countries around the world. Toontastic Jr. Shrek App Review – Ogre-ly Ever After

My husband and I used to have a weekly movie night. Every Wednesday, after the kids were fast asleep, we would settle in to watch a flick together. Unfortunately my husband (who has seen pretty much every movie made since 1977) learned quickly that I was a horrible movie-watcher. I asked too many questions, critiqued the dialogue, and ripped apart actors’ work. My kids have picked up this awful habit of mine, and the little Spielbergs think they can out-direct even Scorsese. Launchpad has already made my budding directors quite happy with their Toontastic apps, and today they’ve done it again.
