Have you ever wondered what would happen if Scrabble and Sodoku got together and had a baby? Well, wonder no more, because Numbler is that theoretical offspring. Part crossword, part math quiz, this app takes the best of both and shapes it into a number-crunching good time. If the math muscles in your brain need a work out, then pick up your iPad and start playing Numbler. Basic math skills – addition, subtraction, division – are necessary in order to play this game. The board itself is quite similar to the layout of Scrabble or Words With Friends, but instead of letters the game tiles consist of digits and equation markers. Memollow Review – Easy And Simple, Like Your Favorite Pillow

Most of my days end with my head hitting the pillow, and sleep hitting me within 27 seconds. It’s amazing that, after a day of activity and noise, all it takes is the basic luxury of a fluffy pillow to send me off to dreamland. Since having children I have learned to never underestimate the value of the simple things in life. Memollow has taken that basic concept and adapted it into a memo-based childrens’ app that uses whimsical and familiar objects to reinforce memory skills. Instead of sharp-edged “cards”, the pictures are on the cool side of the pillow, softening the overall aesthetic of the game. The images themselves are easily-recognized parts of a child’s daily routine – the alphabet, animals, toys – so that young players can further interact with the game. Gro Memo Review – Time to clean these creatures!

My son is notorious for his diatribes that begin with “Hey, do you remember when…” He proves that it’s a scientific fact that children’s brains are like sponges. He has reminded us of events and experiences that happened years ago; like beach vacations, birthday parties, and that time I didn’t buy him the toy he had been waiting for months to get. It’s no surprise, then, that he’s amazingly good at picture memory games, and he really enjoyed playing Gro Memo (short for “memory”).
