iPad App Review: Monster Mingle

There’s something to be said for having two school-aged children who like to use the iPad. They are (usually) pretty autonomous when it comes to figuring out new apps, and with my oldest now reading, no one really asks me for help anymore when it comes to games and apps. What all this means is that I can hand over the iPad to them in a pinch if I need a few uninterrupted minutes on the phone or checking out at a store. The same could not be said for when they were toddlers. TinyMons Halloween Season App Review – ‘Tis The Season For Monsters

In case you didn’t notice, the Halloween season is upon us. (And now that I think about it, it’s been upon us since mid-August) There is candy corn-ucopia of spooky yet adorable apps out there for kids to enjoy in between costume shopping and pumpkin carving, and some of them even offer a boost in early learning skills. TinyMons Halloween Season is one of those seasonal apps that offers more than just a silly scare. It’s an easy game that offers single- or multi-player modes, fun and simple game play, and age-appropriate content (which means no nightmares about monsters under the bed). Callaway Digital Arts, creator of several extremely popular Sesame Street apps, has just released another education hit for pre-school aged children. ‘Endless Alphabet’ features a crew of colorful monsters who are eager to teach children letter sounds and words by using animations, puzzles, and games. As most parents know, reading success begins early. This engaging app teaches the reading basics to the youngest learners by usings adorable monsters. Each word taught by the monsters also has an interactive puzzle game. Monster Morning App Preps Kids For Their Morning Routine

Anyone who has ever had to wake a 4 year old up at 6am for pre-school knows what a monster mornings can really be. I know I do. That’s why I love this app! Monster Morning is a great new storybook app that explores the morning routine using the cutest monsters you have ever seen! Who doesn’t love getting a little help from monsters, right? Monster Morning portrays two monsters (called Peter and Peril) that have a picture perfect morning routine that will be an inspiration to parents and kids everywhere!
