Born in February 2011, My Job Chart was crowd-funded into existence as a way for families to organize, motivate and reward their children for completing certain tasks or chores around the house. With two sometimes lazy children myself, the My Job Chart website is a dream come true! Now, released on the 25th of this month, the virtual chore chart has a mobile app to complement its site. The My Job Chart program has risen to fame and popularity because of its unique reward system. Children are rewarded with points for each job they complete and the points translate to a dollar value that allows children to make purchases from an online reward store (supported by Amazon) or to even donate their point’s monetary value to charity. Nickelodeon’s Brand New ‘Nick’ App Climbs Charts Upon Release

Odds are, Nickelodeon is playing in your home…at this very moment. Whether it’s Dora or Sponge-bob, you probably know, all too well, how much seemingly every child loves Nickelodeon. In fact, I am young enough to remember being about 12 when the very first Nickelodeon programs started coming on. For many, Nickelodeon has simply become a household fixture. Now, the popular kids television channel has its own, self-titled app. At the end of last week, Nickelodeon released its brand new ‘Nick’ app and in the few short days since, it has skyrocketed in popularity. New DrawQuest App From Canvas Inspires Kids Everyday

Keeping our kids creative and urging them to learn can be difficult in an age where children would really rather sit in front of the television or play a mindless video game. Any tool that helps parents inspire their kids to draw and create on a daily basis is a valuable one. The DrawQuest iPad app, created by Canvas and released this week, does all of these things in a fun social atmosphere. DrawQuest, touted as “a free drawing community exclusively for iPad”, presents a different and exciting drawing challenge each and every day. The app prompts the user to draw all manner of different things, from “draw your favorite super hero” to “decorate the snowman”. Each day will present the opportunity to create something new.
