Wubbzy’s Awesome Adventure App Review – Wubbtastic Fun

When it comes to playing kids’ apps to review them, my own children are always the first in line for quality assurance. It only makes sense, though, to hand over the iPad to the apps’ target demographics, right? Watching them play also gives me a birds-eye view as a parent to see how they react to and learn from both educational and not-so-educational apps. However, we’ve been “playing” some pretty intense early-learning apps lately and Wubbzy’s Awesome Adventure came at just the right time. The arcade-style, straightforward game play and fun characters are just what they needed as a little break from some serious skill-building. The basic premise of the game is pretty simple: Wubbzy’s friend Widget made a robot that is now on the fritz. Jim Henson Company Licences Cupcake Digital to Commemorate Fraggle Rock

Fraggle Rock has been staple entertainment through many childhoods, including mine. Now, as Fraggle Rock turns 30 (what!?), Jim Henson’s company has licensed app developers, Cupcake Digital, to re-create several Fraggle Rock episodes and morph them into enhanced storybook apps. This Spring, Cupcake digital will be celebrating Fraggle Rock’s birthday by bringing interactive ‘appisodes’ to existing fans as well as younger, new ones. The apps that are slated to be re-imagined include: ‘No Fraggle is an Island’, ‘Mokey’s Flood of Creativity’, ‘The Best of the Best’, and ‘The Great Radish Roundup’. All of these story-apps are projected to be developed and released in 2013 and will be available across a wide range of platforms including: iOS, Android, NOOK, and Kindle Fire. Wubbzy’s Fire Engine Adventure App Review – Four-Alarm Fun

Big, red, shiny fire trucks are like the Holy Grail of childhood. Every time we hear a siren while we hear a siren time actually stops while my children press their jelly-smeared faces against the car window, hoping to catch a glimpse of the Sasquatch of rescue vehicles. They’re not yet at the point where they can fully understand that fire is actually pretty scary but it’s also still important to teach them all about fire safety. Wubbzy’s Fire Engine Adventure app has come to the rescue!
