If you have a school-aged child, chances are you’ve owned a LeapFrog brand toy at some point or another. Most widely known for their line of tablets and digital reading systems, the company also makes learning toys starting in infanthood through age 9.
In a recent announcement, LeapFrog unveiled their newest gadget, designed for ages 4-9 to introduce and maintain healthy lifestyle choices. The LeapBand is a watch-like device that houses a small digital “pet” that kiddos take care of by staying active and completing challenges, all the while learning about eating right and moving to stay fit.
Fun features include voice-guided narration for pre-readers, parental controls that allow parents to track progress and set modes to keep the device quiet, rechargeable batteries for eco-friendliness and convenience, and a water-resistant design that holds up to splashes or sweat.
The LeapBand is also compatible with other LeapFrog devices, and players can earn points to unlock games and apps on their LeapFrog tablets. At around $30 the LeapBand could be a great way to get your kiddos moving!
